I always have my camera with me and since I spent a fair amount of the rainy season behind the wheel of a car, the inside of my car gets photographed. I like how things in my car relate visually to things outside the vehicle. For example there is a sticker on the passenger window of our Suzuki that I am especially fond of. It's the sticky residue from an old parking permit and the glue has the most wonderful shape. It looks like trees or a hat or a mask depending on what's behind it. The same effect can happen with rain or ice or condensation. Like my Truck Racks series the interesting thing here isn't necessarily the subject matter but how different layers combine to create interesting forms.
I know what you were about to ask and the answer is, No, I haven't gotten in any wrecks while photographing. Driver's Seat last update: November 2007 |
