CIRCUS CIRCUS is a casino in Las Vegas which has nothing to do with these photographs beyond the name.
The name Circus Circus repeats itself. The photographs in Circus Circus are of forms which repeat themselves. Repeating forms are very difficult to find, and I sometimes go many months without seeing any. Then one day by chance I will see three in one hour. When this happens I feel like I've gone to Circus Circus in Las Vegas and pulled a lucky slot lever. CIRCUS CIRCUS is sort of a sister page to Interactive Signs. In both sets of photos I am looking to combine things which by themselves would not be noteworthy. It is the combination of items captured by the act of photographing which gives them meaning.
